There is no single predictive technology which can diagnose all the problems that lead to mechanical defects within your plant. With so many great tools available today, Best-of-Class maintenance departments rely on data from multiple technologies to make informed assessments about machine health.

Within most maintenance organizations it is normal to find a select few CERTIFIED personnel at the top of the technical pyramid. These are the qualified Vibration Analysts, Ultrasound Inspectors, and Infrared Imagers. But beyond these experts there is a void of expertise. For every one expert there are many more who would benefit from a good understanding of how and where these technologies could be used.

SDT has created a "SUPER COURSE" designed to help two specific groups:

  • Those who have some understanding of one technology, but know very little about the rest
  • Millwrights, engineers, reliability personnel and anybody else who could benefit from the knowledge of where and how to use the predictive instrumentation already on hand.

The most important predictive technologies at our disposal are shown in the diagram below. Most plants already own one or more of these tools. The diagram tells us that, while each of the technologies is designed to perform a function, when combined in a complimentary way, the summary result is more valuable than its singular components.

Why should you invest in this course?
  • To extend the capabilities of your engineers
  • Get more use out of your expensive technology investments
  • Provide an intermediate level of understanding for multi-skilled predictive maintenance personnel
  • Cross train predictive maintenance engineers for a fraction of the cost of multiple Level 1 courses
Who should attend?
  • Millwrights
  • Electricians
  • Pipefitters

Course Objectives
  • To provide a thorough groundwork and foundation in the three biggest predictive maintenance technologies at the same time.
  • To give the students the basic understanding of the theories involved and the practical hands-on experience to be able to apply multiple technologies to solving problems in their own plants.
  • To provide employers with more staffing options – more people who can use any of the three technologies when required to help out and do a good job
